Honourable Minister for Information and Broadcasting and Textiles Smt Smriti Irani paid a visit at CSC sanitary napkin manufacturing unit (MMU) started by village level entrepreneur Swathi VK at Hebbal locality of Bengaluru here on March 11. During her visit she met all the women workers at unit and understood all the working process of manufacturing sanitary from VLEs. She also motivated the VLEs and women workers for becoming a part of such a noble cause.Hon’ minister praised VLE Swathi for her courage to emerge as a role model by taking initiative for social cause for the health and hygiene of women. The minister, on the occasion, also handed over the bulk order of 1000 sanitary napkins to VLE by Bengaluru VLE Society.Notably, micro sanitary napkin manufacturing units are being set up by CSC VLEs across the country to provide women and girls access to sanitary products at affordable rates at their vicinity.
